We are incredibly excited to have Jesse Harmon joining the team as Chaplain. He will travel with the team to all tournaments. For three years, Jesse has been a Chaplain for the White Knoll High School football team and is sure to be loved and appreciated by the players.
Torey Wright - 6'5"
Junior, Darlington High School
Torey Wright is an outstanding athlete. He is a big-time recruit in football, one of the top high jumpers in track and a star basketball player for Darlington High School. He led Darlington in scoring twice this season; once, in a stunning upset over #1 ranked Camden, scoring 18 points, and then scoring a game high 25 points in their second meeting. He also had another game in which he posted 22 points and 12 rebounds. Because of Torey's incredible leaping abilities, his dunks are really something to watch.
Michael Spires - 5'11"
Junior, Lexington High School
Mike, along with Daquan Groom, has played AAU basketball for Coach Belue since the 7th grade. Mike is a fan favorite because of his ability to use his body to drive into the lane, making dazzling layups against guys much taller than him. During the 2009 season, Mike saw increased playing time as the season progressed, and eventually started in some games for the Region Champion Wildcats. Mike was honored twice as Sixth Man of the Week.
Matt Jergenson - 6'8"
Junior, Lexington High School
Matt Jergenson is a defensive beast for Lexington High School. He led the team in rebounds averaging seven per game and was honored three times as Lexington's defensive player of the week. He also came within two points of having his first ever triple-double this season.
Justin Mills - 6'2"
Junior, Lexington High School
Justin Mills is a star player for Lexington with spectacular dunks, outstanding outside shooting and great rebounding abilities. All season long, Justin had a knack for delivering big baskets when the team needed it most. His season high was 21 points, and he had more than a few 15-20 point games. During one stretch for Lexington, Justin was named player of the week for three consecutive weeks.
Dexter Staley - 6'3"
Sophomore, Williston Elko High School
Dexter is the only sophomore on the squad but don't let this fool you. He is 6'3'" 230 lbs and can run the 40 in 4.6 seconds. Despite getting a very late start in organized basketball, Dexter has come a long way, and typically scores ten points and nabs ten rebounds a game for Williston Elko High School. His season high was 17 points. He also had a big game in the second round of the playoffs when he scored 16 points. Dexter is incredibly strong and his dunks are monstrous, so much so that tournament directors start sweating about the possibility of their goals being ripped off the backboard. Dexter is also a star high school running back and led his team to the State Championship game this past season. In one football game, he threw a touchdown pass, ran for three more, caught another and blocked a punt all in the same game. Dexter is, indeed, a special athlete.
David Lighty - 6'7"
Junior, Darlington High School
David Lighty is a 6'7" center from Darlington High School where he is a teammate with Torrey Wright. David is an extremely athletic player with tremendously long arms. David has been known to post double-doubles off the bench for Darlington High. David is also a good defensive player with leaping and shot blocking abilities.
Dermaine Smith - 6'5"
Senior, White Knoll High School
Dermaine Smith is the lone senior for White Knoll. He is a legitimate 17U player, as he does not turn 18 before September 1, and is a grade ahead in school. Dermaine was recently named to the All State and All Region team. He is not only a rebounder, scorer, and shot blocker, but also, Dermaine leads his team in charges drawn.
Daquan Groom - 6'3"
Junior, White Knoll High School
Daquan, along with Michael Spires, has been with Coach Belue since the seventh grade. He is a special player who always wears a giant smile. Daquan was one of the top players this season, leading White Knoll into the State playoffs. He averages around 12 points a game this past season. He has improved significantly every season since the seventh grade, and he will certainly be one of the top players in Region V next year. He is a versatile player who poses both inside and outside scoring threats. He is also a great rebounder. Last year, In AAU, Daquan was the leading scorer for our team during the State tournament and led the team to a state championship at Myrtle Beach.
Corey Hendren - 6'3"
Junior, Lexington High School
A phenomenal three-point, Corey shot 43% from downtown. He had a season high 29 points in a single game, in which he connected on seven of eight three-point attempts. He also came off the bench in a second game to hit five straight three-pointers. Corey was honored for being Lexington's Offensive Player of the Week and Sixth Man of the Week.
Brent Evans - 6'6"
Junior, Battery Creek High School
Brent was named to the All Region and All State team in 2009. He nearly doubled last year's output with 15.4 points per game, this season, along with a team-best 8.8 rebounds per contest and 51% shooting from the field. Brent Evans is a force down low; with a wing span over 7 feet. However, he is also a deadly 45% three-point shooter.
Antonio "Buster" Walker - 6'5"
Junior, Williston-Elko High School
Antonio was named to the 2009 All State and All Region teams. He was also named the Orangeburg County Male Player of the Year. He led his team in scoring and rebounding while leading the Blue Devils to the third round of the State playoffs. Buster was a top ten scorer in the state, averaging 21 points per game. He was also a top ten rebounder, averaging twelve rebounds per game.
Adrian Wigfall - 5'11"
Junior, Lexington High School
Adrian is a valuable member of the Lexington basketball program because of his lightning quick speed, the ability to make assists (including ten assists in a single game), his three point shooting ability and his defensive skills. He was honored twice, this season, as Sixth Man of the Week.
